If you want to send
your ad copy by digital file transfer, the NAC
offers several ways including AdSend.
- Send via the Internet
- Send by Portable Media - Diskette, CD or Zip
- E-Mail Attachments
Please read all the instructions on this page
before sending any ad copy electronically.
Printed Copy - No matter which method you
choose to send your ad copy, please be sure to
submit a printed copy for our media staff to use as
a reference. This is especially helpful to insure
none of your fonts or artwork have defaulted in our
system.
Ad reservations and Corrections need to be
arranged through your sales representative. Please
do not upload or send ad copy electronically without
first informing your sales rep. Unless our
production staff is notified by your sales
representative, they may not be aware that your ad
materials have been transmitted and your ad will not
be published.
The preferred file type is PDF created
with Adobe Acrobat, with all fonts embedded. Files
should be kept under three megabytes. Anything
larger then this should be stuffed or zipped.
Don't forget to fax us a copy of your ad! It
is extremely important that you fax a hard copy of
your ad to your sales representative so that we can
match it to our proofs, and use as a layout to
accompany the insertion order. Your fax should
include the name of the file you are sending, and
the date you sent the file. Any other information
needed to process your advertising should also be
included in this fax.
Copy deadlines for ads submitted
electronically are the same as for other ad
materials. To check retail deadlines,

deadlines, click here.
Sending your ad on disk - NAC can only
accept your desktop publishing files on a portable
medium (diskette, CD, or zip disk) or via
electronic transfer. You may send standard floppy
disks 44, 88, or 200 megabyte, and Iomega Zip 100,
Jaz Disk or on a CD. These portable media do not
have to be Macintosh formatted, BUT you do need to
make sure that your file is compatible with the
Macintosh system.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If sending an EPS or Quark
Xpress document, please remember to include all
images and fonts. PDF files must have the fonts
embedded in order to process through our system
correctly.
For more information click here to view the Digital
Ad Guidelines.
Preparing your digital ad copy - NAC's
Digital Media Department operates solely on the
Macintosh platform. For jobs created on this
platform, we can accept native application files
created in Quark Xpress, Illustrator and Photoshop.
For recent upgrades, or old versions of this
software, please
contact us for compatibility.
Please remember to include all your fonts and
any supporting graphics used to create your job. It
is highly recommended that you use a preflight
application, such as Markzware's Flightcheck or
Extensis Preflight Pro, to collect for output, or
even better, use Adobe's Acrobat Distiller to create
a single PDF file before sending your job.
Because of font conflicts and other technical
difficulties, our options for outputting jobs
created on the Windows, or PC, platform are somewhat
limited. Jobs created in page layout programs like
Corel Draw, Adobe Pagemaker, or Microsoft Publisher
must be saved as a Postscript or PDF file. We cannot
output native application files created on the
Windows platform. Also True Type fonts will not work
on our system.
The NAC can reproduce PC graphic files that have
been saved in standard high-resolution image formats
such as TIFF, EPS or JPEG. EPS files that contain
fonts should have those fonts saved as outlines or
curves. PDF files must have fonts embedded.
Questions? If you have any questions
please call your sales representative. Your sales
rep will then talk to a multi-media operator if
needed.
